Difficult Recipes - Step By Step

Chicken Dal OR Chicken with Lentil - Chicken Dal OR Chicken with Lentil

Ingredients

  • Boiled Red lentil and yellow peas with little turmeric and water.
  • 1 boneless skinless chicken breast
  • Onion chopped, Ginger & Garlic, Green Chilies
  • Tomato
  • Ground Coriander
  • Ground red chili
  • Cinnamon stick
  • 3-4 cloves
  • 2-3 green cardamom pods

Chicken Dal OR Chicken with Lentil

Heat oil in a pan and fry Cinnamon stick, 3-4 cloves, 2-3 green cardamom pods & onion till golden brown.

Add grated ginger , garlic & turmeric ,ground Coriander , Ground red chili, and 2-3 tablespoons of water to the pan.

Now fry for couple of minutes till oil separates from the mixture.

Now add chicken cubes and salt and mix with the masala.

Mix with the masala and fry for some time on medium heat.

Add the boiled dal to the pan and mix with the chicken and spices.

Add lemon juice, Tomato, and some chopped green chilies and cilantro to it.

Few curry leaves, 2 cloves garlic, 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds,2 whole dried chilies and 1 teaspoon of ghee or butter for Tampering.

Heat ghee in a small pan and fry curry leaves, 2 cloves garlic, 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds,2 whole dried chilies for 30 seconds.

Now add the tampering to the dal, mix the dal and serve immediately with rice or roti.


Rosogolla - Rosogolla

Ingredients :

4 cups of full fat or whole milk

White vinegar 1/4 cup Water 2 tablespoons (mix with the vinegar)

1 cup Sugar

4 cups Water

3-4 Green Cardamom Pods

How to make Chhana :

Take a pan, add 1/3 cup of water at first and then add the milk (add the water first to portect the milk burning at the bottom) and bring the milk to boil.

Now it's kneading time. Start kneading the chhana in a bowl or on a plate to make the chhana smooth. You have to knead the chhana at least for 20 to 30 minutes. the chhana will be smooth and will come together.

Now make equal size balls. I made 8 equal size balls. If you want little large size rosogolla you can make 6 balls from the dough.

Now take sweet makhna or small crystal sugar cubes and put inside each balls.

Take a pan and add 1 cup of sugar and 4 cups of water and some green cardamom pods and bring the mixture to a boil. When the sugar syrup has started boiling add the chhana balls and cover the pan with an airtight lid and boil the rosogollas on medium heat for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes open the lid, turn the rosogollas and sprinkle some water and again cover the pan and boil for another 15 minutes on medium heat.After 15 minutes you can have them hot or refrigerate them and serve chilled.

  • All Purpose Flour Or Maida - 1 1/2 cup
  • Baking Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Baking Soda - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Eggs - 4
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • Vegetable Oil - 1 cup
  • Strawberry Extract - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Orange Extract - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Strawberry Food Color - 2 to 3 drops
  • Yellow Food Color - 1 to 2 drops

Now Pour the Orange Cake Mixture over the Strawberry Cake Mixture just like the picture.

Pour rest of the Strawberry Cake Mixture onto the Orange Cake Mixture.

Now take a small knife and move it through the mixture in a zigzag fashion.

Pre-heat the oven on 375F. Bake the cake for 35 to 45 minutes. After 35 minutes put a tooth-pick inside your cake to check if the cake is done or not, if the tooth pick comes clear, then your cake is done. If it has some batter on it, then the cake need to bake for another 10 minutes. After the baking time remove the pan and let the cake completely cool down. After cooling down the cake, slice and serve.
